After moving to Whyalla with her husband and four children, Elle knew she wanted to continue building the business she had worked so hard to create, this time in her new community.

The Hair Room offers a broad range of professional hairdressing services, including cutting, colouring, foiling, blonding, styling, treatments and men’s haircuts. Every service is personalised to suit the client’s individual hair, style and needs.

Elle describes herself as a little “old school” in the best possible way. She has a strong foundation in traditional hairdressing techniques and combines those skills with ongoing learning to deliver modern styles and services. She also continues to offer classic services that can be increasingly difficult to find, including perms, roller sets and styling for older clients which is some of the work she loves most.

For Elle, great hair is about more than appearance. It is about giving someone a little extra confidence and helping them leave feeling refreshed and more like themselves.

As The Hair Room grows in Whyalla, Elle hopes to create local employment and build a close-knit team that feels like family. She is also passionate about supporting other small businesses through local collaborations, recommendations and referrals, helping keep more spending within the Whyalla community.

Outside the salon, Elle loves tattoos, netball, camping and a good glass of wine. She remains connected to her original Cowell client base, operating from a smaller location there on a fortnightly basis while growing The Hair Room’s new home in Whyalla.
